The 2023 strategic plan reflects EFSNWO’s commitment to enhancing services and outreach. Notable milestones include relocating to a more accessible office, establishing a community drop-in hub, and expanding housing options. The organization’s timeline showcases achievements such as launching the Court Support Program, implementing harm-reduction transitional apartments, and planning further expansions. Our mission to empower and uplift those at risk of criminalization remains at the heart of our strategic initiatives.

Final Report – Housing Insecurity and Justice System Involvement

Elizabeth Fry Society Northwestern Ontario, in partnership with Lakehead University has completed its research into the relationship between homelessness, housing insecurity and criminal justice system involvement among women in the Thunder Bay region. This research highlights some significant gaps in the services available in Thunder Bay, and makes recommendations on how best to meet the needs of those affected by these breaks in services.
